1950 s onwards Knanites from different areas of Kerala migrated to Kuwait in search of job. Though they were few in number they uphold the precious and valuable traditions and beliefs of Knanaya community and later the like minded people come together and formed an association named Kuwait Knanaya Cultural Congress (KKCC).Under the banner of KKCC regular prayer meeting, periodical get together and other social and charitable activities were being organized and the association was flourished year after year with the support of members and the encouraging leadership of H.G.Mor Clemis Abraham ,the Chief Metropolitan of the East. As the strength of knanaya community increased considerably, desire for a Knanaya Church arise and presented a request to H.G Mor Severios Kuriakaose Metropolitan. On his request H.H Moron Mor Ignatius Zakka I,The Patriarch Of Antioch had given permission   to establish a Knanaya Church in Kuwait by the Bull No.E 99/2005 dated 14th March 05.By receiving Kalpana from our Diocesan Metropolitan regarding the approval of Patriarch, KKCC general body meeting held and took all efforts in search of suitable worship place.By the Grace Of God ,the Greek Catholic church authorities agreed to rent out their church at Salwa to conduct our Holy Mass. Meanwhile all other arrangements were done to start the church service at the earliest. And the Metropolitan appointed Fr.Mathew Kuruvilla,Eruthipattu as the vicar of church.

On16th November 2005 H.G.Mor Kuriakose Severios metropolitan celebrated the first Holy Qurbana at Greek Catholic Church Salwa and declared the name of the church as St.Peter’s Knanaya Churh ,Kuwait and it was a milestone of Knanites in Kuwait as well as Kanaya church as whole. From 2005 December onwards in consideration of our request Rev.Amanuel Ghareeb,President of National Evangelical Church of Kuwait kindly permitted have our church service in NECK compound and later registered the church  in Common Council of NECK.
